Raluca's Story

Raluca is passionate about jewellery and she is creating her own necklaces and bracelets while she is at the Copiii de Cristal Centre. She was diagnosed with autism when she was 2 years old. Even if she is not able to speak, she understands when people address her and sometimes even tries to reply, although she can only pronounce few words.

The therapists believe she can improve the functions of speaking if she continues attending the therapies at Copiii de Cristal Centre. The current focus is on enabling her to produce different sounds and syllables. Although verbal communication does not help her in becoming sociable, she gets along very well with other members at the centre. She became very attached by one of the beneficiaries there, Catalin (visual impaired)  helping him to complete some easy tasks like getting dressed and washing the dishes. In time, Raluca got to consider him one of her best friends.
